Glenrosa Middle School ACES Program

We are planning a Glenrosa neighbourhood Food Drive for the 16th of April. Students will leave class and solicit donations door to door in an attempt to help replenish the stock at the Westside Community Food Bank

There will be a bake sale on Thursday December 10 in the servery at lunch.

All money will be raised for our slavery cause.

We will organize a school wide competition starting in January called Loose Change to Loosen Chains. We'll begin with a short Spirit assembly where Simon Ng will tell the school what IJM does (stuff you already know). A few weeks later we will see which grade has brought in the most money to donate to IJM and they will win a Gladiator Party in the gym for an entire afternoon.

I had a discussion with Mr. Robinson today about our work in the elementary schools. We are going to have a meeting with all of the elementary principals to discuss the idea of having ACES kids mentoring the elementary and helping them with their social justice work.

This would be an exciting opportunity for those of you who really want to work in the schools to do some meaningful things. 

For now, the idea of sharing your slavery work in the schools is on hold until after our meeting.
