Glenrosa Middle School ACES Program

Every year for the past 4 years, the ACES students have organized and run a fundraiser which offers autographed NHL hockey jerseys as a prize. Benefactors of our fundraiusing have included Variety, and our sister school in Lui Namabunga, Zambia.

 

 

The jerseys are generously supplied by Kelowna Rockets alumni Chuck Kobasew, now of the Minnesota Wild. Chuck is a friend of Mr. Orloff's and he happily gives us several jerseys each year to support the work we do. Some of the jerseys Chuck has given us, besides his own, are; Jarome Iginla, Dion Phaneuf, Duncan Keith, Zdeno Chara, and Marc Bergeron. Chuck has also taken the time to visit our classroom to visit the ACES kids and congratulate them on their hard work.

 

 

Other players who have also supported us include Josh Gorges, Luke Fritz, Andy Moog and Jason LaBarbara.

 

 

 

This year, Chuck will be sending us a few more jerseys and we will post pics of them when they arrive. Through another connection we are also hopeful of getting autographed jerseys from Shea Weber, Tyler Myers, Luke Schenn, Jamie Benn, Blake Comeau and Steven Stamkos.

 

 

 

 

Ticket sales for our draw will begin in December and continue until Spring Break. ALL profits raised will be given to a charity detemined by the ACES students.
